Small business websites, built by one person

A small-business website should make the next step clear: call, request a job, check a price, or begin an order. The standard Barnraised offer covers the website and written care scope; stores, bookings, inventory, accounts, and custom integrations are scoped and quoted separately.

A brochure versus a working site

A brochure tells somebody you exist. A more involved site can also support an order, booking, catalog, or account flow when that work is part of the agreed quote.

Livingston Garden Center is a separately scoped commerce example. Its current site publishes six plant categories and a 5 PM cutoff for next-day pickup; the recorded project also included a customer-managed catalog. This is capability evidence, not a claim that commerce is included in the standard website price.

How a build actually goes

  1. Discovery: I ask what the site has to do for you, not what it should look like. Take orders? Book a room? Just be found and look right?
  2. A few designs to flip between, drawn up for your business, not a stock template with your logo dropped in the corner.
  3. The build itself, matched to what the site needs to do.
  4. Before launch, the agreed hosting, customer-owned domain, TLS configuration, and lead-delivery path are prepared. Search or Business Profile setup help is available where the owner approves it and access permits.
  5. Launch. You get a login and my cell number on the same day.

What it costs

I build the site first and let you use it before any money changes hands. If you do not want it, you owe nothing.

Accept it and the site costs $3,000: pay once at launch, or $250 a month for twelve months. Same total either way, and both include the first year of hosting and changes, plus the computer the site runs on, yours with your first payment.

On the monthly option, stopping before the twelfth payment leaves the balance of the $3,000 owed; the site and the computer are already yours. Once the $3,000 is paid, keeping me is $250 a month, and cancelling costs nothing. The domain is registered to your business before launch and is transferable subject to registrar verification and unpaid third-party fees.

Stores, inventory, customer accounts, register or accounting work, custom integrations, substantial new features, and work outside the written care scope are quoted separately. Full pricing is here.

What stays direct

The same person handles the conversation and the build. Search and Business Profile setup assistance is available with owner approval where access permits; indexing, rankings, map placement, and lead volume are not guaranteed.

Scoped content changes are included in the written care agreement. Substantial features, integrations, and work outside that scope are quoted separately. See what comes with it.
